Bewitching Angel

Charged with a crime she did not commit, beautiful Angelique Perrot is forced to flee for her life. Disguised to hide her identity, she runs straight into the arms of American sea captain Brett Demeraux.

Brett is less than pleased when he finds himself saddled with a dirty urchin that latches on to him with startling tenacity.

Angelique instinctively knows that this forbidding stranger could well be her only means for survival. However, since Brett’s proficiency in the French language is negligible at best and Angelique has never heard anyone utter anything in English, their inability to communicate leads to mutual misunderstandings and unmasks Angelique in the process.

Their immediate attraction to each other is undeniable, but Brett knows that a lasting relationship between the two can never be, since he harbors a secret that might well be the death of Angelique.
