(If I Should Die) Before I Wake

When David finds the old man dying in the alley, he has no idea that the man is going to drag him to hell, to force him to confront his fears and his desires, and to drag him to the brink of insanity. But the small blue box that the old man gives him proves to strong for his despair, too strong for his depression, and the promise that the box gives can not be fulfilled without a huge price.

And when the old man who had died starts to appear to him, now younger and full of life--though still quite dead--David starts to question his own sanity.

David's battle to stay alive turns into a fight to maintain his integrity and his dignity, to strengthen his faith, and to stop hurting the very people that he least wants to hurt. And when Jeremy enters the the picture to help to guide him out of the hell into which he's been dragged, he learns the importance of allowing others to help him.

They soon discover that the only place that the force behind the box can be confronted is in David's dreams, which are much more real--and much more horifying--than his reality.
