Description
A short story.
A cricket player turned software engineer moves to the United States to assist with the set-up of a new office for his Indian-based company. There he develops gaming software and wikis for large corporations. Fully acclimated to his new environs, he is soon brought into a venture with the founder of Wikileaks.
He writes the code for the project, and reads many of the classified documents. He is surprised at the breadth of publicity the leaked documents cause. When the American informant and Wikileaks’ founder are arrested, though, his surprise turns toward concern.
The anonymity he enjoys as a software developer is thereafter abridged, and he is followed whenever he leaves his home. He laments his fate and ponders his newfound sentimentality. Nor are his weekends playing cricket quite the same.
