By John Keegan: The Face of Battle

I recently purchased a second copy of this book because my first one had been "loaned and lost." I'm not a historian nor even a serious history buff, but this is a fascinating exposition of the battles we all studied in high school or college classes. Keegan was a master of military history with the ability to write it with the spell-binding touch of a premiere novelist. I might have been a history major had my professors and my textbooks been as interesting!
