Amber and the Iron Wolf

Amber lives with her father, Vincent and her sister, Mala, in a small village surrounded by a lush forest. The village is one of simplistic comforts and splendor, having plenty for all who dwell in its humble embrace. Though, not all is at ease. Tales of a creature stirring in the unrest of the forest begin to swell among the villagers as the year of the void-moon, a blood red moon eclipsed in sinister caustics of black shadow, approaches. The dreaded Iron Wolf, a beast of unspeakable terror, invades the village every few years to feast on fear and death alike. Amber's father embarks on a campaign with a small group of followers, hoping to drive the beast away, leaving the village unguarded. The villagers bar their doors and windows, as they always have during such a time, but the Iron Wolf is much wiser this day. It stays in the midst of the village until it finds Amber and Mala's home and tries to break through the door! In a bold and daring display of courage, Amber grabs a sword and flees from her home with the wolf in pursuit.

A seemingly hopeless battle ensues. Amber eventually outwits the Iron Wolf, slaying it once and for all. The wolf bites off her right arm in an agonizing struggle for its last breath, then succumbs to oblivion. Two years later, the wolf seems forgotten. A fading legend in the winds of a new age.
