Description
Our daughter was diagnosed with PCOS when she was just 17 (she is now 25). It was finally recognised she had a problem after a year of going to the doctor complaining about pains in her lower stomach. Each time she would come home and feel that she had not been listened to and her pain not taken seriously. No options were offered to find out what was causing the pain. I had not been going with her to the doctor as she had reached an age where you try to give your children space and treat them as young adults. But when she fainted from pain in front of us we went back to the doctor and I insisted that something was done to find out what was wrong. You don’t faint from pain without something being very wrong! She was diagnosed with PCOS and Endometriosis and endured just over four hours of surgery to remove an alarming amount of cysts and Endometriosis. She has since had further surgery to remove scare tissue.
Our daughter has her PCOS under control now but we deal with other issues relating to this disease. Her weight control, back problems from surgery, anxiety about having children and the one that’s makes us sad is she feels she is broken and her body isn’t perfect.
I dedicate this ebook to our beautiful daughter and we hope our ebook helps some one else’s daughter cope better if they have been diagnosed with PCOS or Endometriosis.
