Murder in the Appalachians

Ken, the precinct captain of a bicycle squadron, retires from that post, and he moves to the Appalachian resort enclave,The Five Cliffs District. The former cop becomes a purveyor of gourmet and mountain blend spices when he purchases a local business, The Spice Shop. From that connection he finds a great friend in Cyprus, a wealthy society lady. Cyprus founded a internationally successful sandal manufacturing and design company. Prior to that, when she was quite young, she was a drifter,a fringe hippie girl. She sold her business, and many say when she did, she sold-out her earthy, feminist values, and sold short her admirers. She is brutally murdered. Ken is asked by her family to solve that gruesome crime. He finds he is at odds with law enforcement. He tries to preserve his own freedom, without clearing the most likely killer of Cyprus: her husband. Wonderful Appalachian scenery, and wildlife. Gripping suspense.
