Description

This book is a highly practical introduction to building measurement and control systems in the MATLAB and Simulink environment. The material of the book is based upon using the Real-Time Windows Target library and contains simple real-time applications represented by Simulink models. The hardware interface for each application is built around a multifunction DAQ module NI PCI–6221. All applications and algorithms were designed so that to be applied to most common DAQ modules.
The following basic algorithms implemented in real-time applications are represented in this book: measuring analog and digital signal parameters, signal filtering, synthesis of analog and digital signals, interfacing external circuits to DAQ modules. Some additional examples of real-time applications such as an AM modulator/demodulator, a simple tone decoder and a pulse-width modulator are also included in this guide.
All projects were successfully built and tested on the old x86 PC with Intel Pentium 4 CPU 2.4GHz and 1.50 GB RAM. The MATLAB/Simulink R2011b development environment running in 32-bit Windows 7 was used when developing real-time applications.
