Description

The standing building is one of the few intact buildings in the area. A world-wide war had wreaked mass destruction throughout the planet. This area was no exception. Nations had been pitted against nations in world war.
The world war had been waged with the help of man-made Robots. In addition to helping wage war the Robots had served Humans in many capacities, examples being manufacturing, operating equipment, farming and personal services.
An event occurred which changed history; a radiation cloud hit the earth following a solar flare. The radiation had affected the Robots in a way unknown to the Humans, in a way that turned the Robots against their masters, the Humans.
The face of the world war changed, it was no longer Humans against Humans; it became war between the Humans and the Robots. The World's Nations had to forget their differences and unite to rid the Planet of the Robots. Fiercely fought warfare ensued until the Humans finally defeated the Robots, leaving a great deal of bitterness and anger towards the Robots.
The inability to reprogram the Robots to eliminate the evil traits necessitated the total destruction of the Robots and a worldwide ban against the manufacture of Robots.
Because Mankind had joined together to defeat a common enemy, a worldwide peace had resulted, but not without consequences.
With the absence of Robots the World is left with a greatly diminished ability to manufacture and operate equipment. Besides Robot soldiers, Robots had been integrally involved in manufacturing, building and, most importantly, production and delivery of food.
A case in point, new vehicles are almost impossible to manufacture in any number and with any quality. Old existing vehicles have to be relied upon. Mankind's existence has become increasingly unsustainable.
