The Grey Cardinal Part 3 (Investigation + Deception)

A former KGB sleeper agent in the United States, who was instrumental in a bombing that killed 18 people in Virginia, is making her way south to try to reach the safety of Miami, where she believes she can assimilate into the Cuban-American community there and disappear. Her ultimate objective is to reach her birthplace; Havana. She runs into a snag along the way that almost ruins her plans. The FBI and secretly the CIA are on her tail, but not close behind. She faces a number of challenges on her quest for freedom, always looking over her shoulder, but believes she has the training and fortitude to be successful. The FBI and CIA have joined forces against her and have assumed her final destination to be Miami. Will they ultimately find her and bring her to justice?

At the same time, the new President of the United States has determined that the NASA space shuttles will retire in 2011. The Prime Minister of the Russian Federation is pleased at this outcome because the true purpose of his secret satellite is no longer in jeopardy. As he settles in to establish his campaign to become President of Russia for the second time, he has relegated the satellite to the back burner. But, the whole thing suddenly comes to the fore again when the he learns that the United States has secretly launched a mini-space shuttle and that it has been operating in orbit for seven months. No one knows what it was doing up there all that time or what it’s true purpose is. All he knows is that the unmanned vehicle has a robotic arm and a cargo bay, and may be capable of repairing or retrieving satellites. Just as this news hits home, additional announcements in the Western media indicate that the whole subject of cleaning up orbiting space junk has taken on a new life with projects in both Europe and the United States coming to life. He decides to learn more as he prepares for the upcoming election, which he wins amid a lot of internal and external controversy about rigged election results. How will he deal with the space junk cleanup threat? Or, will he worry about it at all? What are his plans for the satellite now that he has become the President of the Russian Federation?
