The Trance State as a Religious Experience: A Monograph
Description
From the Introduction:
In March 2003, I gave a lecture to an anthropology class on shamanism pertaining to the trance state as a religious experience. This monograph is based upon that lecture and expanded upon in order to bring it somewhat more up to date.
There were three parts to that lecture: a brief discussion about the symptoms of Schizophrenia, about the symptoms associated with Dissociative Trance Disorder and also charisms in the early Christian church. Each topic will be discussed here in turn and respectively, followed by some concluding remarks.
