Description
‘I, Spy’ is a series of collected essays on intelligence and security matters by the late Indian bestselling author, veteran Intelligence officer and highly respected strategic expert, Maloy Krishna Dhar. Combining the understanding of the subtleties of international relations and politics of a pundit with the unique perspective of someone who learned about terrorism and security matters not sitting at a desk but fighting in the frontlines, I, Spy offers readers an unprecedented peek into some of the pressing security issues affecting the Indian subcontinent today.
Volume 4 of the series focuses on Kashmir, the long-standing flashpoint between India and Pakistan, where a Pakistan sponsored insurgency has brought the two nuclear neighbours to the brink of war several times in recent years. The essays in this book are:
An itinerant’s journey through Pakistan Occupied Kashmir
Whither Kashmir?
The making of a ‘Kashmiri’ terrorist
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Maloy Krishna Dhar began life as a journalist and a teacher, but ended up spending more than thirty years as an officer in India’s Intelligence Bureau, retiring as its Joint Director. During his highly decorated career, he handled the sensitive Pakistan and Counter-terror desks, when he got a first-hand exposure to fighting the specter of Islamic terror that many Western readers were to remain blissfully unaware of till the tragic events of 9/11. After his retirement, he went back to his original love, and became a bestselling author and a recognized and highly respected authority on security matters.
