Lizard Explores Epcot

No one thinks of a vacation as a course in economics and efficiency. But with so much money invested in a trip to Walt Disney World, it is only smart to pre-plan your vacation. Your family will thank you when you make the most out of your time at Epcot.

Epcot is one of four parks that comprise Walt Disney World in Florida. For about two years, I have been going to Epcot anywhere from one to four times per week. I have shown many groups of people, friends and strangers, the best of Epcot. Once, I met my sister’s friend’s mother’s friend’s Brazilian Au Pair. Her only wish, while in the United States, was to go to Walt Disney World. (Ninety percent of U.S. visas granted to Brazilians are to Brazilians who travel to Orlando.) I think there are many great, natural places that everyone should visit in the United States, but Walt Disney World is special, too.

There is no way you are going to see everything at Epcot on your vacation. You don’t need to see everything and, frankly, you won’t want to see everything. I remember my sister wishing for a bed to take a nap when we first visited Epcot. I said, “We can go on Ellen’s Energy Adventure.” If you have been on this 45-minute ride, you understand my joke. She replied, “I always take my nap in The American Adventure.” I actually love The American Adventure. This proves two points: What one person likes to see or do another person might not have any interest in doing and visiting the parks get tiring. It is never good when you need a vacation upon returning home from what was meant to be a relaxing trip. I will tell you what you absolutely need to do at Epcot.

I believe you can easily complete the “Best of Epcot” in five to seven hours, but some of you may want, or have, more time. I understand. With a degree in International Relations, I love World Showcase. I love going to every film possible, but, for many, some of the films should be skipped in interest of time or in the interest of keeping a child content.
