A Chance Encounter

A mysterious stranger has arrived at Sir Walter Munford's home, setting tongues in Clifton wagging. Who is she? Even she doesn't know the answer to that question. How should she proceed with her life? Should she marry? Perhaps she already is married. Who can tell? Certainly not her. There are two people who can solve the mystery; one a friend and one an enemy. Both will confront her and one will plunge her into a vortex of danger and almost certain death.
