Born rather a long time ago (1943) in Belfast, Northern Ireland, Peter lived in Trinidad, but was packed off to boarding school in England. He pursued a career in computer software development for Mainframe computers from 1966 to 2001, starting as a programmer and working up to Marketing Director ("it's a breeze, just keep downsizing the company you work for until you become a director"). Peter moved from England to South Africa in 1969 in search of sunshine and field hockey on dry pitches. He and his wife now own a small restaurant in the KwaZulu Midlands area of South Africa. He joined the Midlands Writers group in 2006 to gain constructive criticism and to reduce his intake of red wine. There has been no shortage of the former while the latter remains a work in progress. Peter likes his wife's cooking, red wine, Roald Dahl and dachshunds. He dislikes call centres, junk food, sports administrators and jellyfish in all walks of life.
