Description
Able to discern between friend and foe, the Doberman makes a loyal protector. But this large, lean breed is more than a snarly stereotype – it’s loving, sweet and sensitive. With a firm hand to guide it, Dobermans make great pets, strong competitors and accomplished working dogs. Camille DeClementi, VMD, provides tips on everything from preparing for your pup’s arrival to setting boundaries and helping your dog see everyone in the house as part of its pack. “Doberman Pinschers: How to Be Your Dog’s Best Friend†guides you on feeding and housetraining, grooming and care, and teaches signs to watch out for in breed-specific problems and disease.
Excerpt from the Book:
“Doberman pinschers are famous for “the lean.†They love to lean into you for prolonged stroking and have earned the nickname “Velcro dogs†because they stick to their people like glue. Dobermans need companionship and enjoy being with their master as much as possible. When you are together, they prefer to be close and some will want to actually touch you whenever possible.â€
