Code Name Ginny

In 1943, President Franklin D. Roosevelt appointed Colonel William D. Donovan as Director of the Office of Strategic Services (OSS). Colonel Donovan formed the very first Operational Group (OG) of commandos. This new battalion of fighting men was made up of second generation Italian-Americans. They were trained as special forces in guerrilla warfare to be used on the mainland of Italy, to slow down the German war machine in the Mediterranean theatre.

The Ginny II Mission would be the most important mission that fifteen brave OSS-OG Commandos would undertake at that time in World War II. Its success meant a quicker and easier liberation of Rome. No one could foresee the place these fifteen American Commandos would take in history. They would become the avenging sword of justice for the atrocities committed on six million Jews in Europe as ordered by the most evil man that ever walked this earth.
