The translators task is sometimes rendered difficult not so much by the actual work of turning into another language the.writings of the author, as by the necessity of choosing among the authors works those which ought to be presented to the readers of the other language. It is a great privilege, therefore, to base ones choice upon what the author himself considers his best work.
