About the Authors: Keith Seafield, a native of Chicago, moved to Fort Lauderdale in 1972. He began his career as an E.M.T. in 1982 and worked for a local ambulance service while attending paramedic training. In 1984, after becoming a state certified paramedic, he was hired as a firefighter/paramedic for the City of Sunrise Fire Department. He joined the Miami-Dade Fire Department in 1988 where he remains as a Lieutenant. Keith is a grandson of Michael Kinsch, a retired Captain of the Chicago Fire Insurance Patrol. At age twenty-three he received his grandfather's Fire Patrol possessions and has had a passion to research his life and his service on the Patrol ever since. This book is the accumulation of his many years of research. Mike Pack, a native of Chicago, grew up as a fan of both the Chicago Fire Department and the Chicago Fire Insurance Patrol. As a youngster he moved to Houston. His volunteer fire service career has spanned over fifty years and he has served with six different fire departments during that time. Mike spent a number of years in the Army reserves and attained the rank of Captain.
