From the author: This paper argues to reject a recent call that Yoruba traditional medicine should be integrated into orthodox medicine. In the main, the paper argues that given that meaningful development precedes the call for integration, and it is possible that Yoruba traditional medicine could be developed on its own; such that the secret and the so called magical processes are objectified, and if Yoruba traditional medicine has been developed and used to serve humanity on its own, independent of the orthodox one, then the call for the integration of Yoruba traditional medicine into orthodox medicine is unnecessary, and thus, such a call lacks any justification, in the interest of cultural heritage preservation.
