Christmas Spirit

It is Christmas, and its spirit inhabits Cullen: a convent on an island in the far north. Unhappily other shades are also in residence: some are benevolent, but some are malign. Mother Margaret Hilda, the Prioress, who is in temporary charge, is burdened: by a bedridden Abbess, a leaking roof and finances in free-fall. The addition to the house of a trio of disruptive young people, one of whom totes calamity, does nothing to ease this stressful load. A chapel has stood on Cullen for eight centuries, and a religious foundation has occupied it for over one and a half; all these visitors threaten both.
