MATURE STUDENT - answering the call for teachers in the 1950s by Ian M. Malcolm

In 1955, the author was working at Portishead Radio Station in Somerset, having previously served as a radio officer in the Merchant Navy. He was attracted by the call for teachers in Scotland, as success in the venture would allow his wife and him to return to their home town of Dundee.

This, then, was the thinking behind embarking on what turned out to be anything but an easy passage.
