The Secret (Law of Attraction) Debunked

Self-help books are interesting; while they almost always offer some help, they usually also promote a theory, which at times is just misleading, while at others is completely wrong. "The Secret" by Rhonda Byrne, released in 2006, is no exception; it promotes a "Law of Attraction" wherein the Universe responds to the individual’s thoughts and provides to them the object of their desires. There is only one problem; the Law of Attraction does not exist.

In this book, I cut through the clutter and prove that the Law of Attraction is a misrepresentation of the day-to-day operation of our pattern-recognizing brain. Uniquely qualified with my research experience in computational intelligence, I also draw upon concepts from physics and neuroscience in debunking "The Secret”. With clear explanations and examples, this may be the most important book ever published about The Secret.

Why debunk "The Secret," and, why in the Kindle format? There are many reasons for the former (described in the book), the most crucial of which is that the theory is flat out wrong, and, wrong theories lead to wrong expectations (which in the case of The Secret, is people expecting the universe to do the work for them).For the latter, devoid of fluff and carrying original, impactful (and potentially controversial) ideas, Kindle seems to be the format best suited for this.
