The 18th Century was a new age of discovery for European seafarers who sailed across the partly discovered lands of the East, in search of new lands, which when discovered would eventually became colonies.

In this golden age of the sailing ship, a solitary vessel left Britain in 1768, the Endeavour, her captain, James Cook. Sailing through the drizzly damp morning, the ship and crew would eventually sail around the Terra del Fuego onward towards Otahite, New Zealand, Australia, and the Dutch East Indies.

A journey which was recorded by Sir Joseph Banks, the renowned Botanist, and adventurer aboard the Endeavour, as it sailed through unknown waters.

A record which now lives through the pages of this book, as Captain. James Cook, and his crew, discover new lands, find new adventures, and encounter the fabled lands of the East.
