Grey Wolves synopsis

James ‘Jimmy’ Palmer, early thirties and latterly kicked out of the Parachute Regiment, is a Green Lanes Londoner, now living in Cyprus working in a dead end job. Then, one morning, his life is to change forever, when he saves a young girl’s life, from drowning out at sea, and unwittingly becomes the focus of attention of the local mafia. Later that day he is brutally attacked by three armed balaclaved men, who are holding his friend, Andreas, hostage. The next thing he knows he is waking up in a private hospital, which has been provided and paid for by the mother of the little girl he saved from the sea. It turns out the little girl is the granddaughter of Polis Magnitis, one of Cyprus’s wealthiest and most influential families and Mrs Millie Magnitis is eternally grateful.
A police inspector tells him he is lucky to be alive, for he has fallen foul of the Bratva, or Russian Mafia, as has Andreas. Together they go and visit the mobsters, who, with their female boss, give them a job to do. He is to go and visit the mother of the girl he rescued – whom the mafia had intended to kidnap that day, before he messed up their plans – and give her a memory stick with a set of demands on it. Mrs Millie Magnitis knows that she owes Jimmy her daughter’s life, but refuses to kowtow to the mafia after all the years the thugs have been trying to get to her. Jimmy is supposed to get on a plane and leave Cyprus as soon as he has delivered his message, but he can’t leave his badly beaten and frightened friend, and he is also intrigued by the glamorous Mrs Magnitis.
