Instead, she dreams of having the freedom to choose her own spouse, the freedom to create her own destiny. When her husband's obsession with the supernatural costs Agnessa her life on their wedding night, she gets her wish.

There is magic in the water of the Russian river and it isn't long before Agnessa rises as a member of the water siren race of rusalki. Finally, she is free to go to the arms of the man she truly loves. But will he recognize her? And what will her widower say?
