World Voyage Planner: Planning a voyage from anywhere in the world to anywhere in the world (World Cruising Series Book 2)

This book helps sailors plan the outline of a voyage in any ocean of the world, with suggestions of alternative routes to certain destinations, recommended times and seasons, areas to be avoided, attractive places en route and strategically located ports of call to be used in an emergency.

World Voyage Planner is meant as a companion volume to World Cruising Routes and World Cruising Destinations, both of which should be consulted for specific information on individual routes and countries.

To facilitate the planning of a voyage in any part of the world, the recently published Cornell’s Ocean Atlas contains monthly pilot charts based on data gathered by meteorological satellites over the last twenty years. The charts show speed and direction of winds and currents, the extent of the Intertropical Convergence Zones, mean tracks of tropical storms, and the mean location of high pressure cells for each month of the year.
