The Pit of the Wild Seas

THE PIT OF THE WILD SEAS attempts to explore the explosive nature of a love affair in which two people try to give each other not only themselves, but also total sexual freedom, in defiance of conventional morals.
Catherine Wade, born with a propensity towards men, meets and marries Paul Spencer who encourages her to join him riding the Wild Seas of love and sex which eventually carries them both into the biblical pit of damnation.
The story follows them from their respective, very different, but equally significant childhood traumas, along their converging paths. Catherine proves to be quite happy and capable of distancing amoral sexual activities from her family life and her fanatical love for Paul. Their inevitable destruction comes, not from the triumph of morality, but from the weakness of human nature. They just cannot stand the pace. Paul deteriorates physically and Catherine becomes mentally unhinged, finding she is psychologically unable to accept the implications of Paul's final excesses.
