Description
Thalia is haunted by her father’s disappearance and her mother’s resulting alcoholism and emotional abandonment fifteen years ago. She suffers from recurring dreams that center around her guilt and shame, feelings that result from her sense of responsibility for her father’s disappearance. Now, Thalia meets Taylor Chase and her world of isolation and control is shattering. He’s wealthy, smart, warm and attractive and for the first time she feels she can trust a man, love a man. Then, fate steps in and brings her father suddenly back into her life through a strange coincidence and Thalia must decide if she’s going to give up her new love and seal the pain away or open herself and be vulnerable to not only Taylor, but to her father and to herself.
This ebook is the complete novel (all five parts) Thalia’s Journey, the contemporary romance from Kamri Haggerty. Part thriller, part mystery, and part contemporary women’s fiction, this novel of self-discovery and triumph over tragedy is sure to inspire, anger, and entertain.
Here is a preview from Part Two:
She watched him move around his sparkling kitchen. He was dressed in jeans and a polo shirt. Gone was the sophisticated lawyer from earlier in the day. This look was just as stunning as the previous if not even more so. It was giving her heart palpitations and she wondered if this was how she would always feel around him. She hoped that she wouldn’t faint when she finally saw him naked. That thought caused another blush to creep up her face and she cleared her throat to stifle the embarrassed giggle that almost escaped her lips. My God, I’m behaving just like a little girl.
“Coming right up.†He removed what looked like lasagna from the oven. “James, what are you doing out of bed?â€
Tahlia turned towards the direction that Taylor was looking. There stood a boy who was about ten years old. He was the exact replica of his father, same squared shoulders, blue eyes, dimple, wild dark hair and lean body. James was leaning on the door, staring at her. His grin was also something he’d inherited from his father.
“I couldn’t sleep, dad. Plus, I wanted to meet your new girlfriend,†he said, smiling all the time. This boy was not sick. He could fool his father but he was not fooling her.
“There will be plenty of time to meet Tahlia when you’re not sick. Now, off to bed with you.†Taylor replied while taking a salad out of the fridge.
“You know that he’s not sick, right?†she asked Taylor after James had left.
