Outsiders

A coming of age story with a difference.
At some undisclosed time in the future when the extremes of unchecked climate change have stabilized two young people leave their isolated stronghold with a group of scientists. Terran, a girl from the ruling elite, wants to get away from her family problems. Raven, a boy from the underclass, just wants to get away. Both are disheartened by the devastated landscape they travel through and an unlikely friendship develops between them.
When Mitchell, their fanatical group leader puts their lives in danger the pair are rescued by a band of travellers. They are taken to a thriving community hidden deep in the desert mountains. There they discover a way of life that offers alternatives to the limited prospects they have grown up with but which forces them to question both their values and their sense of personal identity.
