The Conductor - A Short Story

The Englishman, Derek Clive Soames, is the most famous orchestral conductor in all of Europe. Returning to Vienna to conduct the Berlioz Symphonie Fantastique, he recalls the fateful journey he took with his conducting teacher and mentor, Karl Stefan Hubay. Though it was years ago, it changed his life forever, and the small bag that he carries with him everywhere, holds the dreadful secret of the journey, and the events that changed his life, and that will change the life of another.
