A screen adaptation of Mahesh Dattani's play of the same name, Dance Like a Man revolves around the strained relationship between Jairaj Parekh and his wife Ratna, both ageing Bharatanatayam dancers who are forced to confront long-buried conflicts from their past when their daughter persuades them to meet the boy she wishes to marry. The film, directed by Pamela Rooks, won the National Award for Best Feature Film in English in 2004.
