Description
When I last taught optimization theory (I am retired) I concluded that all the textbooks I saw fell into one of two categories:
I. enjoyable, fun to read but peppered with errors;
II. precise and correct but unmotivated, perplexing, and boring.
So I have written a companion book for those of you working with a textbook in category II. I hope you'll like my perspective on the Simplex algorithm, conjugate gradient methods, and the Krushal-Kuhn-Tucker-John conditions. After reading it if you require a more rigorous treatment of the details, you will find it in your assigned textbook.
