At sixty two, with mounting gambling debts and his business failing, Harry Bardwell’s life is slowly unravelling. When a casual favour for a casino acquaintance precipitates him into the dark world of people trafficking, events of a past Harry would rather forget look set to repeat themselves. With the security services and the Chinese underworld ever more demanding, he meets Mei Ling, a desperate young woman recently smuggled into Britain.
