Thomas Berry reminded us that we are a part of a common universe in which every being has the right to fulfill its destiny and the right to joy. Berry presents a worldview in which what will save us is beauty, not measurement, a worldview in which care for the earth and its people is the chief aim. His thought is based in the principle that "rights come with existence. That which confers existence confers rights."
