The Serpent Queen

Everyone in rural Choctaw County looks forward to the arrival of the annual carnival. With its neon lights, rattling thrill-rides and boisterous midway, it offers a brief respite from the hum-drum workaday world. But this year it all seems different. Take the freak show, for example, and the strange snake-charmer called The Serpent Queen. Is she dancing with the snake? Or is the snake dancing with her?
