In this book the selection criteria for combination of collectors and cooling system that matches cooling demand and constraints of solar radiation is presented. A description of various types of collectors including flat-plate, compound parabolic, evacuated tube, parabolic trough, Fresnel lens, parabolic dish and heliostat field is presented. Then selection criteria for these stationary and concentrating collectors in various air conditioning systems is established and performance analysis of these collectors in air conditioning systems is done. In addition to this different solar thermal collectors in air conditioning applications are analysed by dynamic simulation. The efficiency curves for various collectors are identified as a function of difference between mean heating temperature and ambient temperature. The collector comparison of annual solar fraction for buildings for air conditioning systems is also presented.
