The ADA and Reality

We live in a world where people actually think that the law works. We have lawmakers who believe that passing feel good legislation really solves problems, and we have a legal system that protects those that don’t need protected, wealthy individuals and institutions. The reality is that the justice system and attorneys just want to get you out of the way.

Sally Borman was attending nursing school when she suffered a massive stroke that kills 90% of its victims. She did actually die twice, but survived. Sally decided to return to nursing school so she could earn a living and support herself. This is the first part of her story of the discrimination she face at nursing school. We think that as a country this type of prejudice could not possibly exist, but it does. I was a witness to it. The story is true, unbelievable, but true. Unfortunately . . .
