From the author: College students visiting drinking environments risk sexual and physical aggression. We test a field method designed to reduce these negative experiences. Using the High Ecological Survey of Risky Behavior method (HEVSORB), we assessed the efficacy of a brief intervention adapted from the successful "SafeNights" intervention. The intervention (relative to the control) significantly reduced some reported negative experiences of participants who received it. The HEVSORB method was an effective vessel for administering experimental tests of interventions in our sample on a university campus, and the same could be true for similar real-world drinking environments.
