Captain Blood, Crown Jewel Thief, 1671

In May 1671 an attempt was made by Captain Thomas Blood to steal the crown Jewels belonging to King Charles II of England, which were situated deep in the basement at the Martin Tower when Mr. Edwards was the Keeper of the Jewel House at the Tower of London.

This attempt made him famous through Britain and he went down in history as one of the most famous thieves of all time; so much so, that he is a legend in British history.
