Description

Congratulations on your purchase of “An Advanced Look At Shikata Ryu Ninjutsu”, the third book in the three book series that is derived from the printed book “Shikata Ryu Ninjutsu Training Manual”, which is also available where ever books are sold. In this advanced look of the art I take you through some advanced techniques and ideas of hand to hand that would be taught to a student of the Shikata Ryu once the basics were mastered. Each student entered into the Shikata Ryu training program under Master Retsuzen would have been shown the basics before anything else in the physical part of the training program and then once mastered would have been shown intermediate/advanced skills.

Of course, in the Shikata Ryu, students were taught spiritual aspects as well as mental training aspects as well and usually that training would start immediately upon meeting Retsuzen for the first time. Many students came from afar to learn and showed their very strong will to learn by making the trip to see Master Retsuzen a spiritual homage. Indeed, some came on foot from afar. So in reading through this book of 5 chapters and concentrating on the information one can learn to defend and react like students of the Shikata did, long ago. If you have any martial arts knowledge, your studies will be easier, but it is written in a way that most anyone can understand.

The following chapters show the diversity of Master Retsuzen's training and the diversity from which the Shikata Ryu Ninjutsu system was derived. Chapter 1 teaches you about the much sought after Tiger Style techniques of the system. Master Retsuzen trained separately from his Ninjutsu training in Shaolin Tiger Style Kung Fu, the lure was it's awesome power, that like a tiger. Because Tiger Style Kung Fu has so much to offer in the way of traditional studies, this was another reason the art became part of the final system of Shikata Ryu Ninjutsu. Today, Master Retsuzen is an ordained Zen Priest, still practicing Tiger Style!
