Description
A journey through a woman's life that started with the war, through a fascist dictatorship which was then replaced by a communist oppressive regime, spent in fear and silence.
Myra was born to a Jewish family in a small town in Romania at the beginning of the second world war. She grew up with fear, destruction and war devastation as well as discrimination. She learned early in her life to be silent and watchful. When the war ended and the family was reunited, a new down rose with promises for a better life. The family started the new life in a country devastated by war and famine, also under occupation. One oppressive regime was replaced by another and Myra's school years and teens were shaped by the forever present fear. She was determined to succeed and in spite of all obstacles and against all odds she graduated from the Medical School and became a doctor. She fell in love and married the son of a political dissident. Further difficulties followed. Myra was sent to practice medicine in a small, poor village, an experience that an eye opener into a kind of life unknown to her and for which nobody had prepared her. She adapted and moved on.
