That’s what this book is about -- getting us back to the glory of first love. In spite of the tough and honest critique I levy against contemporary Pentecostalism, this book is fiercely optimistic. In spite of the challenges we face, I remain hopeful about the future of our church. I believe the Pentecostal Church is ripe for revival. The chorus of voices calling for a great Pentecostal awakening is growing louder by the day. True believers, those of us who are fed up with religious games and gimmicks, are ready to return to “old-school†Pentecostalism. We want to go back to the way it used to be. We want to return to the first-love glory of Azusa. We are ready to experience the miracles and outpouring that is sure to come when we go back home.
