Seymour Bluffs and The Piasa Bird

Seymour Bluffs, the bald eagle, tells the legend of the Piasa Bird. In 1673 explorers Jacques Marquette and Louis Jolliet first discovered the image of the Piasa Bird high upon the limestone bluffs near Alton, IL. A legend was born and has been handed down from generation to generation through local storytelling.
