London 1925: Tasmin Oakley's, beautiful, clever, vain and adulterous sister Margaret dies suddenly. Also in London, cynical, hard boiled private detective Christian Le Cozh gets a job from Margaret's grieving husband. It turns out, he's not grieving - just scared. He tells Le Cozh that he knows Margaret has returned from the dead. Whatever it takes, he wants Le Cozh to put her back there. Le Cozh thinks he's crazy, but he needs the money so he plays along with the madness. But once involved, he gets sucked into a horror he can't resolve alone.
