Description
The cities of Zelkai and Holland are at war. They probably always will be.
Valiant Skyward and Blade Swallow, young and fairly inexperienced soldiers serving under the famous war veteran, General Leo Rosen, know this to be true. But despite this nightmarish truth, the two friends believe that they will soon see an end to the horror and enjoy a moment of peace. That is until Valiant is visited by a darkly clad visitor who insists that he leave the city on an errand of the greatest importance. And with this stranger comes unsettling news: Holland is on the move. As the armies clash once again, Blade and Valiant wage war for the defense of their beloved home. But as the sky tears open from above the ravaged battlefield, Blade and Valiant are inadvertently whisked away in a supernatural storm of unknown origins. They wake, naked and alone, in a world they do know not. As Valiant and Blade travel this strange land in search of one another, they are introduced to a foreign world where people can move mountains with their minds and creatures called Hybrids hide away in the swampy north. They are soon dragged into a struggle greater than themselves, aiding an underground organization bent on rescuing Sorna from the ruthless politics of one Llyod Norrath, King of the Hybrid people. Their companions consist of an excommunicated priest, a boy with the power of prophecy, a young widow, an army of nuns, and many other souls with nowhere else to go. As Valiant and Blade search for answers concerning their hometown of Zelkai, they discover unsettling truths about themselves, their parents, and all they have ever known; and soon they must decide whether or not they are willing to sacrifice their lives for the sake of thousands and become the next Peacekeepers of the age.
