Rein Rinet is entering his first day in middle school when he and his family realize that his health starts to drastically fail him. It soon becomes apparent that what's killing hims is the power he was born with. With help from a mentor, Rein must learn to control his gift in order to save his life all while figuring out who it is that's after him, and why it is they want him dead.
