Once again we travel throughout Ireland and England with the adventures of Eanna, who in his first novel ‘The Gods Are No More’ unwittingly with the help of a priest called Patrick, brings Christianity to his homeland Tara in Ireland, and with it a new God who has not only replaced all the Druid gods, but the Druids themselves. It wasn’t a long divisive struggle with different clans facing off with each other, but a rather quick and peaceful change that happened through a singular event. The event was called a miracle by the Christians and a feat of magic by the Druids but it was enough to change the mind of Logaire, the King of Tara and father of Eanna. The miracle was simple and it would be an end to an era that had lasted since the beginning of these people. But even as this drama played itself out in the lowlands and hills of Tara, a larger and more dangerous antagonist stood poised just across the sea that could again bring change. With the last of the Roman occupancy gone, a new race called Saxons were now slowly pushing across Briton with their axes and shields wreaking havoc wherever they went. Slowly the landscape of Briton was changing and ever slowly it crept towards Ireland. It would be Eanna who was now sent to seek them out to discover who these people were, where did they come from, and how was it that they so easily conquered most of Briton in such a short time. Now the test would come. Could this new God brought across the sea to Briton withstand the onslaught of the new invaders if they came? Through many new trials Eanna finds himself face to face with the Saxons in a small kingdom called Glywysing and there must make his stand.
