Growing from the vocational guidance movement is vocational psychology the psychological study of life work. The founding of vocational guidance would occur through the Parsons formula of job analysis, person analysis, and through the matching of the two. Vocational psychology concerns itself with the psychology of individual differences assessing significant vocational person attributes providing vocational guidance through empirically validated technology in the attempt of describing occupations in terms of person attributes enabling the matching of the individual to his or her occupation. The validation of this technology is ample for the prediction of worker satisfactoriness and worker satisfaction. Dramatic consequences can exist for society and individuals from even modest increases among worker satisfactoriness and satisfaction. It is a wonder and regret vocational psychology to remain unavailable or unknown to the majority standing to benefit from its practice.
