" We are continuing in the book of Daniel. I want to come back a little bit to some material that we have touched on a little earlier. We are going to have a chance to pick up a few details that we had skimmed over. Daniel is organized in terms of subject matter. As you go through the book, it does not strictly follow chronological development. You will notice that many of the chapters in Daniel are dated in terms of when the prophecy came. One of the things that you note is that Daniel dates some of the chapters later on in the book as having been received at times earlier than some of the previous chapters. Now there are reasons for that. He starts out and sort of follows the chronological order up to chapter 3. Chapters 4 and 5 are interesting because they are many years apart. Many of the events recorded in chapters 6 through 12 certainly occurred prior to some of what is here in chapter 5. Daniel 4 and 5 are back to back, not because they chronologically follow one another, but because there is a point that God is making in terms of the lesson. Chapter 4 records a lesson that Nebuchadnezzar learned. Daniel 4:17, this lesson centered around the fact that, as it is brought out, “‘“…in order that the
living may know that the Most High rules in the kingdom of men, gives it to whomever He will, and sets over it the lowest of men.â€â€™â€
